Thinly Sliced Life, Part 1
The Thinly Sliced Life is an introspective practice that is quite extensive, so we’re splitting it into multiple lessons.
In this first exercise, we build the foundation for an exercise that has been profoundly life changing for myself and my clients.
Exercise
- Take a moment to imagine yourself as a newborn.
- Feel into how innocent you were and how deserving of love, care and acceptance you were, as every baby is.
- Write a letter to yourself as a newborn, in which you simply express this love, acceptance and care.
- Write anything else you wish to express.
Remember that this about feeling love and acceptance and expressing it. You are not here to send advice or prophetic warnings back in time. Not that a baby could make much of those, anyway.
The only thing to do here is to bring awareness to the fact that you were once this newborn and feel into it. Experience how innocent and vulnerable you were back then and open your heart to yourself.
