I Help You Grow When Self Development Stops Working

Shift from force to flow, from adding more tasks to removing the obstacles that cost you the most time and energy.

Shane Melaugh

Hey, I'm Shane and I've seen this problem play out many times:

It seems like you're doing everything right and yet, your progress stalls…

You do the productivity routines, you put in the hours working on your business, you read, you meditate, you work out… or at least you try to do all of these things, all the time.

But something is off. You keep starting and stopping key habits in your life. You keep running out of willpower. You try to catch up by going extra hard and then you burn out.

And there's one big mistake you make when this happens:

You blame yourself. You think there's something wrong with you.

It took me a long time to figure this out for myself: the problem isn't you, it's that you've outgrown your system.

Habits, discipline, strategy, all the usual self development stuff is effective and important. But it's not the end game. You're not supposed to force your way through life until you drop dead.

You're supposed to keep growing and reach the next stage.

Stages of development diagram

It's the good old "what got you here won't take you there". Except that for every 10,000 pieces that tell you how to go from Victim to Creator, there's maybe one or two that even mention there's a stage beyond this.

So it's no wonder almost every ambitious person gets stuck here.

The Next Level: From Force to Flow

Growing to the next stage doesn't mean adding more skills, more chores, or more tasks.

To keep growing, you have to get beyond the brute force approach. This is something I learned the hard way, by hitting my head against the wall until I burned out — more than once!

What I had to learn to keep growing is refinement. I had to shift from "robotic output" to becoming attuned to my inner compass.

Which may sound woo, but it's exactly what will unlock your next level of growth, too.

Mind you, this doesn't mean you give up on systems. Systems are important, but you have to become more selective with them. You stop the "one-man battle" and start aligning yourself with greater forces.

What to Expect When You Work With Me

There are a few ways in which my approach is different and that's what makes it the antidote to the usual "hustle harder" advice:

Replace Force with Flow

Instead of using willpower and discipline to force adherence to a rigid system, we cultivate flow. Result: peak performance comes naturally.

Shift to Removing Obstacles

Instead of adding more tasks, more chores, more things to do, we uncover the key bottlenecks. This includes the inner/emotional obstacles that are costing you the most time and energy.

From Complication to Refinement

The more you level up, the more responsibility comes your way. That's normal. But what's not necessary is that everything gets complicated and overwhelming as a result.

When we work together, you're going to experience a shift from external to internal focus. From "more, more, more…" and always feeling rushed to refinement and cultivation.

This feels scary at first. You're so used to the way you've always done things, you feel like success = working hard and slowing down means everything will fall apart.

That's why we'll make the transition easy for you, by doing small experiments and moving step by step.

Why I Don't Sell Coaching

There's a problem with coaching that I've experienced many times myself: it seems that the coaches who are best at selling are the worst at actually delivering value.

They put all their efforts into creating a slick offer, making big promises and getting the sale. After that, they move on to closing the next client and deliver the bare minimum.

I do the exact opposite. I put all of my time and effort into delivering value — and there's one secret to making this work: I only take you on as a client if it's a clear "f*ck yes!" from both of us.

The Process — Getting Clarity First

I make sure I only work with people who are a great fit (i.e. people I can make a huge difference for). I do this by filtering very strictly.

That's why the first step is to fill out a form with some questions to help me understand your situation and needs.

Then, we get on calls. Not sales calls. We get to know each other, I get to fully understand your needs, we set clear goals. We do the work, for up to 3 hours. No sales pitches.

Only after this do we decide: if it's a "f*ck yes" from both of us, that's when we sign an agreement and you start paying for my services. If not, we part ways and you benefit from the work we've done up until that point.
